Collection of historical documents compiled by Sir Roger Twysden [manuscript], 1646-1658.

The foundation of Stanlaw Abbey; Chronicle of Wales to 1286; an epitome of Doomesday for Kent; ordinances of Edward II. Also two long polemical letters to Richard Lee of Great Delce, Kent, on theology and ecclesiastical polity and an autograph letter of Lee to Twysden. Much of the collection is in Twysden's autograph.

Soldier, courtier, author and antiquary, Sir Roger Twysden made his home at Royden Hall in the county of Kent, England. He collected Greek and Hebrew manuscripts as well as printed books. Upon his death, his collection passed to Sir John Sebright (1767-1846) of Beechwood Park, Hertfordshire, who sold the main portion at auction through Leigh and Sotheby on 6 April 1807.
